What got you into American Football to start with? Did you play any contact sport beforehand?

My brother has been playing for the London Warriors (and Cobras) since back the day so he's been a real influence for me to play the sport. Watching grudge matches between the Warriors and Blitz is a great way to see what British Ball can offer.

What was your career like at the UniBall Level?

I enjoyed three great seasons at Brighton Tsunami playing as a DB there. Our defence was up there with the best around, helping us to a winning record in my first two seasons and a division title before being knocked out in the National quarter finals. My final season saw us playing in the Premiership South. As with Uni Ball we lost a lot of great talents through graduation so we were unfortunately relegated but put up a great fight.

Why did you start coaching American Football?

My career is based around Physical Activity and Coaching so it was natural that I would combine my career with the sport I love! I started with coaching flag football at a primary school in Eastbourne while I was at university which gave me an interesting insight into coaching the sport. After head coach, Adam Lillis, found out about what I do as a job I couldn't say no to starting my university coaching career!

What advice would you have for a person interested in playing American Football?

American Football is a diverse sport which has a role for everyone and anyone. Although it may seem brutal the game is very calculated and allows for players to use their athleticism as well as their tactical genius. Get involved with your local team or university, you wont regret it.

What are you looking forward to the most this season with the City Wolfpack?

Building on a solid foundation which we started from last year. There are lots of players who are returning who we hope to push on further to lead the team and it's always exciting to spot new talent in our first few Rookie sessions. I'm looking forward to creating an explosive and dynamic group of receivers.

Favourite NFL Team and why?

Carolina Panthers. When I started playing uni ball I decided I needed to watch the game to get a better understanding. I was feeling everything about the Panthers from the logo, kit to some of the top players like Newton and Kuechly.

Favourite NFL Player and why?

I've got to stick with the Panthers and say either Cam Newton or Luke Kuechly. Both are absolute beasts when it comes to playing and put their all into everything. Two of the best athletes to currently play the game!
